To mark Fertility Awareness Week, Jersey charity Tiny Seeds has launched The Birds and the Bees, a powerful new campaign exploring the real, emotional journeys behind fertility.
Through a series of short films created with care and candour, the campaign gives voice to islanders who have faced complex paths in the hope of becoming parents. Some stories end in joy, others face a different future to the one they hoped for – all reveal courage, resilience and humanity that too often go unseen.
Set in gardens, homes and everyday moments, the films invite viewers to listen as people speak openly about fertility, choice and care. Together, they challenge the assumption that family always looks one way, reminding us that nurture takes many forms.
The series explores themes including ‘Words Matter’, ‘Man Talk’, ‘Real Stories’ and ‘One Word’, examining how small remarks can wound, how silence can isolate, and how sharing can heal.
Over the coming months, the campaign will share real stories from the many islanders who contributed their stories and strength.
At the heart of The Birds and the Bees lies a stark truth: fertility issues affect one in six of us. Behind that statistic are people quietly navigating heartbreak, hope and medical hurdles — often without ever telling a soul.
Chloé Fosse, Governor and Charity Operations Manager at Tiny Seed commented: “Facing a struggle to bring home a baby can be a heartbreaking and isolating experience. Too often, people face these challenges in silence. Through greater awareness, we hope to shift perceptions and encourage wider support. This year’s Fertility Awareness Week theme, Every Voice, Every Journey, reflects the reality that everyone’s path is unique and every story matters.
“The campaign is about helping those voices be heard and their journeys be seen, while letting others know that our support is available if they need it. We are grateful for the funding support of the TMF Island Walk for making the campaign possible.”
