Local breast cancer charity, the Pink Ladies, has announced a new partnership with Future Dreams Charity in London.
Future Dreams is an organisation focused on providing essential resources and support for those facing and affected by breast cancer.
This new relationship aims to give islanders impacted by breast cancer, access to invaluable online services and resources specific to breast cancer – diagnosis, during treatment, and life after.
Future Dreams was founded in 2008 by mother and daughter, Sylvie Henry and Danielle Leslie. By a cruel twist of fate, they were both diagnosed with breast cancer, tragically both women lost their lives to secondary breast cancer within a year of each other in 2009. Their legacy lives on in Future Dreams and the thousands of women the charity supports every year. Guided by a simple but powerful mission: ‘No one should face breast cancer alone or without hope’, the Pink Ladies and Future Dreams will be working together to offer islanders more support.
Jackie Wright, Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist at Future Dreams, expressed her enthusiasm for this partnership, stating: “We are truly delighted to be connecting with the Pink Ladies Guernsey, and see this partnership as a meaningful opportunity to extend our support to even more individuals affected by breast cancer.
“This exciting joint venture represents the first initiative of its kind for Future Dreams, marking a significant milestone in expanding access to support services. Future Dreams aims to build on this success by scaling the model to other communities, particularly those where geographical barriers limit access to vital support.
“At Future Dreams, we offer a wide range of accessible online services designed to support both physical and emotional well-being. These include weekly movement classes, as well as expert-led workshops covering topics such as menopause, nutrition, cooking, and Emotional Freedom Technique, among others.”
