JT has donated a refurbished laptop and two mobile phones to the Sophie Reid Neurological Association through its Community Giving Scheme.
The donation will help the charity establish a new volunteer-led counselling service for individuals and families affected by neurological illness, emotional distress, trauma and grief.
The technology donation will provide the essential digital infrastructure needed to launch the service, enabling counsellors and volunteers to safely manage referrals, maintain confidential records, communicate with clients and deliver remote counselling support to islanders who may otherwise struggle to access emotional wellbeing services.
The refurbished laptop will be used by the charity’s Lead Counsellor to manage safeguarding records, volunteer support and service administration, while the mobile phones will provide dedicated charity contact lines for referrals, enquiries and counselling coordination.

The counselling service will initially operate remotely, allowing the charity to reach individuals across the Island who may be unable to attend face-to-face appointments due to health conditions, mobility challenges or personal circumstances. The new technology will help ensure secure communication, professional service delivery and greater accessibility for those seeking support.

Most importantly, they will help us connect with people who may be feeling isolated, overwhelmed or alone, ensuring they have somewhere to turn when they need support most.”
