Jeanette Sheldon, Head of Water Quality at Jersey Water, has been named as a finalist in the Women in Utilities Awards 2026.
The Women in Utilities Awards recognise outstanding women working across the UK utilities sector, celebrating leadership, impact and excellence in operational and frontline roles.
Shortlisted in the Frontline Excellence (Utility) category, Jeanette (pictured) has been recognised for her leadership and for achieving 100% compliance for water quality last year, leading on Jersey Water’s response to PFAS and driving the development of the company’s new laboratory.

On her shortlisting, Jeanette said: “I’m extremely proud to be a finalist for an award that shines a light on women working in frontline utility roles. Delivering safe drinking water is always a team effort, but visibility of women leading in operational environments is important and I’m proud to represent that at Jersey Water.”
Helier Smith, Jersey Water’s Chief Executive added: “Jeanette is a highly respected operational leader whose credibility comes from more than 30 years of technical expertise and leadership. Her shortlisting is fitting recognition of the standards she sets, the team she leads and the vital contribution she makes to protecting water quality for our customers and for Jersey.”
