A Jersey local is taking on the 2026 London Marathon in support of NSPCC Jersey – but with a creative twist on traditional fundraising.
Rather than asking solely for donations, Kevin Alway, who works as Operations and Communications Lead at Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey, has launched a ‘Skills Auction’, where professionals across Jersey (and beyond) can donate their time, talent or expertise to be auctioned off in aid of the children’s charity.
Whether it’s an hour of expert legal advice, a photography session, a personal training consultation, or a masterclass in digital marketing, Kevin is inviting professionals to offer up a skill that can be bid on by the public – with all proceeds going to NSPCC Jersey, the local arm of the UK’s leading children’s charity.
“We all have something valuable we can give – and in this case, it’s our time and experience,” he said. “This auction isn’t just about raising funds; it’s about bringing our professional community together to support vulnerable children across the island.”
NSPCC Jersey is dedicated to preventing abuse, supporting families, and giving children the help they need to recover. Their work is critical, with local services tailored to Jersey’s unique community needs. From therapeutic support to direct work with children and families, NSPCC Jersey’s mission is to keep children safe from abuse and neglect – and to give them the brighter futures they deserve.
“Every child deserves to grow up in a safe, secure and loving environment. By supporting this campaign, Islanders are directly contributing to that vision becoming reality here in Jersey,” Kevin added.
