Jersey based IT network and security specialists launch new company

After a collective 45 years of working for large IT and communications companies, two Jersey entrepreneurs, Chris Langlois and Stafford Slater are using their years of experience and knowledge to start their own business, Enso Solutions.

Enso Solutions has been created to offer local businesses an alternative option to review, update or maintain their current environment whilst assisting them in planning their future transformation strategies, leveraging cloud, software-defined network (SDN) and security managed services.

Business connectivity has accelerated quickly over the last 20 years and the Covid-19 pandemic has been a harsh reminder of the importance in having secure and efficient cloud-managed network and security solutions in place to help support a flexible office and home-based workforce.

Stafford Slater said:  “In May 2020, it was reported that the proportion of malicious email attacks targeting home workers had increased from 12% before the UK’s lockdown began in March, to more than 60% six weeks later.  Our goal is to work closely with our customers to ensure that they not only have secure and effective network solutions in their office but can also support their workforce to operate just as efficiently and safely at home.

“Starting a new business during a pandemic has been challenging but in some respects, this is a perfect time.  The enforced movement of workers to a home environment and the resulting rise in cyber-crime has highlighted just how important it is to have secure networks in place.”

Chris Langlois added: “Thankfully, with the roll-out of a global vaccine program, there does appear to be a light at the end of this ‘pandemic’ tunnel. However, we are finding that many companies are now in the position of needing to make decisions about their future business models. Do they go back to business as normal and bring all staff back into the office, or will we see a permanent shift to flexible home-working solutions? More than likely a combination of both will occur. Whatever their decision, companies must have secure and efficient networks ready to limit and respond quickly to cyber-attacks that can seriously disrupt business activity.

A previous study highlighted that in the UK a small business is successfully hacked every 19 seconds  We aim to ensure that our customers are suitably protected to avoid the reputational damage and costs that these opportunistic criminals can inflict.”
