Six founders presented their businesses to investors and business leaders at Pitch Guernsey’s Summer Edition on 29 July.
The event, held at Artemis House, generated around £150,000 in indicated investment interest across the participating businesses. A further £250,000-plus was expressed as possible interest, although all indications were non-binding.
Four of the founders travelled from the UK, while two were based in Guernsey. All six businesses are currently seeking investment, with several having already secured funding, including support from Guernsey investors.
Attendees provided structured digital feedback after each presentation, scoring the pitches and commenting on what appealed to them, any concerns and potential opportunities. Each founder received detailed feedback from more than 20 attendees.
The event also included prizes worth £1,500. First place was awarded to Hannah Mellor of Nendo for her sustainability-focused business, while second place went to Katie from baby equipment rental platform Baboodle. Andrew Melton of MAP Health also secured a top placing for Guernsey.
The evening led to a number of follow-up meetings and further investment discussions.
Ellen Armsden, co-founder of Crewdentials, said the feedback report was “the best and most actionable feedback I’ve ever had from a pitch.”
