A locally based parenting-support app for parents of children under five has received a £100,000 grant through the Impact Jersey ‘Innovation Programme’, which is delivered by the Digital Jersey team.
As a result of the funding, all Jersey residents – including parents and relevant stakeholders such as healthcare providers, charities, insurance companies and employers – will be able to access the ‘Parent Sense’ app for free.
As part of the Impact Jersey agreement, anonymous insights based on localised data will also be collated by the Parent Sense team to feedback to Impact Jersey and local health bodies, helping create a more accurate and holistic picture of childcare and parenting in Jersey.
Parent Sense is a digital platform designed to support parents during pregnancy and the early years of their child’s life by providing trusted, evidence-based guidance provided by qualified health and childcare professionals on infant health, development, sleep, feeding and parental wellbeing. The platform can provide comprehensive and tailored support according to parent and child needs, through a broad range of guidance, webinars and an interactive chatbot.
It was developed by Jersey-based technology company Sense-IT Limited, which came to Jersey on a Digital Jersey licence in 2020 and operates internationally through its digital platform. In March 2026, Sense-IT Limited was selected to participate in the 2026 Innovation Hub Fellowship at the Thrive Center at Georgetown University, with parenting expert, occupational therapist and CEO Meg Faure and COO Tové de Chazal Gant joining the global cohort of innovators working to improve maternal and early childhood health systems.
Parent Sense is one of the projects to be granted funding through Impact Jersey’s rolling ‘Innovation Programme’ – which is delivered by Digital Jersey.
Commenting on the funding grant from Impact Jersey, Founder and CEO of Parent Sense, Meg Faure, said: “Parenthood is a beautiful but also very complex time for families, with so many different milestones to navigate. Parent Sense is designed to bring together a huge amount of expertise in one place, to provide evidence-based guidance and tools to help make this journey a little easier for parents.
“We are grateful that Impact Jersey have seen fit to grant us this funding to help make the app available island-wide. The first five years of childhood are so important for longer-term health in individuals, so the easier we can make this for parents by providing a reliable and accessible support system, the better.”
Tony Moretta, CEO, Digital Jersey, added: “This is another example of how Impact Jersey is continuing to play a key role in addressing important issues across Jersey’s community through the application of technology. We often talk about the challenges of parenting and childcare and how the impact of those challenges is felt right across our healthcare system, economy and community. As well as supporting a significant number of parents, this initiative can feed into the island knowledge bank of parenting experiences and help inform future policy and parental support.”
