JT has promoted Laura Belo to Chief People Officer.

Laura’s promotion marks the culmination of an exceptional career journey spanning more than two decades with JT.

Having joined JT in 2005 as a Customer Service Representative in the Call Centre, Laura (pictured) moved into Human Resources in 2007 as an HR Advisor. Over the years, she has progressed through a series of increasingly senior leadership roles, including HR Business Partner, Head of Talent, Head of HR Solutions and Head of HR, before being appointed Chief People Officer.

In her new role, Laura will be responsible for leading JT’s people strategy, culture, talent development and organisational effectiveness, ensuring the company continues to attract, develop and retain the skills needed for the future.

Throughout her career, Laura has played a key role in shaping JT’s people agenda, supporting business transformation initiatives and introducing a range of innovative employee benefits and development programmes. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership.

Andy Green CBE, Chair of JT, said: “Laura’s appointment is a fantastic example of the opportunities that exist within JT for talented individuals to build long and rewarding careers. From starting in our Call Centre to joining the Executive Leadership Team as Chief People Officer, Laura’s journey demonstrates what can be achieved through hard work, commitment and a passion for people.

“Over the years, Laura has made an outstanding contribution to JT, helping to shape a culture where our people can thrive and ensuring we continue to invest in their development. I am delighted to welcome her to the executive team and look forward to seeing the positive impact of her leadership in the years ahead.”

Laura Belo, Chief People Officer, said: “I am incredibly proud to take on the role of Chief People Officer at a company that has given me so many opportunities throughout my career. Having started in the Call Centre more than 20 years ago, I understand first-hand the importance of creating an environment where people can grow, develop and achieve their ambitions.

“JT has a strong culture built around its people, and I am passionate about continuing to strengthen that culture while supporting our colleagues to thrive. I look forward to working with teams across the organisation as we continue to develop our talent, support our communities and deliver for our customers.”
