Staff from HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man were recognised at an awards initiative hosted by the Bank recently, celebrating high performing staff and exceptional customer experience from across its international wealth and premier banking teams.

A total of 18 colleagues from Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man were invited to attend HSBC’s ‘International Wealth and Premier Banking Americas and Europe Performance Excellence Awards’, held in Barcelona last month, with six being nominated and winning key awards.

The Awards aim to celebrate frontline colleagues from HSBC’s teams in Europe and the Americas, while attendees also have the opportunity to connect with leaders and peers and build skills through various training sessions, networking and other activities over the course of three days.

Nomination for the awards reflects consistent high performance, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering real value for customers. Those recognised through the Awards were:

  • Dean Anderson: Winner of the ‘People Leader Award’
  • Yvonne Hammet McDermott: Winner of the ‘Customer Centricity Award’
  • Mhairi Thomsett: Winner of the ‘How We Lead Awards – Simplify to Amplify’
  • Candice Warman: Nominee for a Premier Award
  • Shabaz Hameed: Nominee for a Wealth Award
  • Simon Freer: Nominee for a Wealth Award

Commenting on the islands’ strong representation at this year’s Awards, Alvaro Teixeira, Head of International Wealth and Premier Banking, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said: “Congratulations to our winners on this well-deserved recognition, and their continued pursuit of excellence. Through their performance, leadership and commitment to our customers, they’ve shown what it means to combine ambition with integrity, and performance with purpose. They bring HSBC’s values to life every day, continue to raise the bar for our customers and each other, and set a strong example for us all.

“I’m very proud of the positive impact they’re making for our clients, our teams and our business, while for the islands to have such a strong showing at a major international initiative also reflects the pivotal role we play here across the wider HSBC network.”
