Passengers arriving in Jersey from France will now have to isolate for a minimum of five days, dealing a fresh blow to the hospitality industry.
Due to a rise in Covid-19 cases, France has been moved from a green status country to amber, as of 9 August. This means it has between 25-120 cases per 100,000 people.
As a consequence, people arriving in Jersey from France will be required to undertake two PCR tests on day zero and day five, and will be released from self-isolation only on receipt of two negative results.
Simon Soar, Head of the Jersey Hospitality Association, said in a statement that although it was a shame, ‘we understand the absolute necessity to protect our borders and our island.’
