Enable Jersey has announced the launch of new evening Voice sessions, creating more opportunities for people join to conversations about the issues that impact the daily lives of disabled islanders.
As a pan-disability organisation, Enable Jersey works alongside people living with disabilities and long-term conditions, as well as family members, friends, and carers.
Through Enable Voice, the charity provides a safe and welcoming space for people to discuss the barriers they face and help shape island-wide conversations on issues such as benefits, access to public buildings, healthcare, and wider policy change.
Topics are guided by what matters most to participants themselves.
Following the success of its daytime Voice meetings, Enable Jersey is introducing an evening option to ensure those who are unable to attend during the day are not excluded.
Suzanne Day, Support Services Manager at Enable Jersey, said: “Voice is about listening to what people are telling us – the barriers they face day to day – and working together to find ways to overcome them. It’s also about connection: meeting others, having a chat over a cuppa, and knowing you’re not alone. After the success of our daytime sessions, we’re really pleased to be launching an evening group so more people can take part.”
