Collas Crill has been announced as the sponsor of the 2025 Guernsey FA Comets programme, a disability football scheme for local children delivered in conjunction with Le Rondin School.

This initiative is part of the law firm’s support and sponsorship of the Guernsey FA and Victoria Park for this season.

Launching this autumn, the Comets scheme provides a recreational, pan-disability football experience for boys and girls aged 5 to 11 years, enabling players with a wide range of impairments and health conditions to participate in the sport. A key focus of the national initiative is providing a safe space and a playful approach to football where fun and friendship are prioritised and players are encouraged to be themselves.

The Comets scheme plays a key role in supporting Le Rondin School’s aim of providing a varied curriculum focused on the needs of individual pupils with wide-ranging and varied degrees of special educational needs.

Collas Crill’s sponsorship will help the Guernsey FA to provide the vital resources, including coaches and equipment, to deliver the programme to approximately 18 children on a weekly basis. The majority of the programme will take place at Le Rondin School, but some sessions are scheduled to take place at Victoria Park for the first time, where pupils will have the opportunity to enjoy having a kickabout on its world-class 3G pitch.

Gareth Bell, Guernsey Managing Partner at Collas Crill, said: “We are proud to be supporting the Guernsey FA with delivery of its Comets scheme. This initiative is a key part of our overall sponsorship of the Guernsey FA and Victoria Park. The primary aim of our community activity is to support local talent and ambition, and part of this is ensuring that opportunities are inclusive and available to all. The Comets scheme ensures that pupils of Le Rondin get the chance to play and enjoy football, and also experience the brilliant pitch and facilities of Victoria Park.”

Gary Roberts, CEO of the Guernsey FA, said: “We are extremely proud of the Comets scheme, which we have successfully delivered in partnership with Le Rondin School since 2024 to Year 3,4,5 and 6 pupils.

“The scheme underpins the Guernsey FA’s ethos of developing local partnerships that enable us to encourage islanders to enjoy football in a positive and inclusive way. Collas Crill’s support will be paramount in ensuring we continue to deliver the scheme to children within a safe and tailored framework that meets their specific needs. We can’t wait for kick-off, and this year, a key highlight will be welcoming many young islanders to Victoria Park for the first time.”

Christine de Kock, Deputy Headteacher at Le Rondin School, said: “The Comets football scheme is so much more than just learning to play a game. It’s about building confidence, developing new skills, and experiencing the joy of teamwork.

“By fostering inclusivity and supporting local talent, the program not only ensures opportunities for all, but also strengthens community partnerships and encourages every child to enjoy football, regardless of their impairment.”
