Scaffolders based in Jersey can now access nationally recognised Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme qualifications without travelling to the UK.
The change follows the approval of Scaffold Training Academy Ltd as an official Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS) Training Centre for the Channel Islands.
The approval marks the establishment of the first CISRS training centre in the Channel Islands, providing a local route to structured, nationally recognised scaffolding training for the first time.
The approval has been nearly two years in the making, developed in collaboration with CISRS, NASC and the Government of Jersey. It represents a significant step for the Channel Islands’ scaffolding and access sector, which previously had no local access to CISRS-accredited training.
Kelly Keating, Director of Scaffold Training Academy Ltd, said: “This has been a long time in the making and we are incredibly proud to have reached this point.
“Scaffolders in Jersey have always had to travel to the mainland to access nationally recognised training, and that has been a barrier for many. Having an approved CISRS centre here changes that. We are committed to raising the standard of scaffolding training across the Channel Islands and this is just the beginning.”
