ArtHouse Jersey has announced the latest recipients of its 2026 Development Grants, supporting a diverse range of projects spanning film, music, theatre and visual arts.
The quarterly initiative provides funding to local professional artists to help develop new work or progress their creative practice.
This round includes projects ranging from immersive sculpture and short films to music videos, theatre productions and a full-length album, reflecting the breadth of creative talent across the Island.
Among the recipients is printmaker and painter Chris Addy, whose project ‘Inside’ explores the experience of being a neurodivergent adult. The funding will support research and development for an immersive installation combining printmaking with sound and light, inviting audiences into a cuboid capsule designed to offer insight into neurodivergent perspectives.
Filmmakers Emily and Bethany Cornelius have also received support for their short film ‘Always Towards the Ocean’, set within Jersey’s surf and skateboarding community. The live-action project focuses on twin sisters navigating identity and ambition.
They explained: “We are so excited to have ArtHouse Jersey’s support to help us bring our short film Always Towards the Ocean to life. Set on Jersey and shooting in Jersey with local talent and crew amongst the Island’s thriving skateboarding and surf community, we are stoked to work on such an authentic and energising project both in front of and behind the camera. ArtHouse Jersey’s contribution is invaluable for us to further our artistic development by realising the vision of this proof-of-concept short, which we hope will progress into a feature set in the same world, and to provide meaningful opportunity for creatives on the Island.”
Musician Samuel Bowen, who performs as Home Movie, will use the grant to produce a music video for his ‘Home’ EP. He said: “I’m so thankful to ArtHouse Jersey for supporting this project.
“The funding will allow me to collaborate with a local filmmaker to create a music video for my upcoming Home EP, helping me develop the visual side of my work and promote my music to wider audiences. It’s exciting to be able to create something on the Island that reflects both the music and the place it was made.”
A theatre group formed by Charlie Dubois, Oliver Wilson and Cal Clarke will take their play ‘The Adventures of the Pheasant, the Peasant and the Pilgrim’ to festivals across the United Kingdom. They commented: “This grant will allow us to take ‘The Adventures of the Pheasant, the Peasant and the Pilgrim’ to multiple theatre festivals this summer, an amazing opportunity for us to develop our craft, perform around the UK and establish ourselves as a theatre company. Thanks so much ArtHouse Jersey!”
Other projects supported include a 10 track rock album by Alexandra Le Monnier, performing as August Gone, and the completion of Andrew Robertson’s animated short film ‘Everything White’. Andrew commented: “ArtHouse Jersey’s support will allow me to complete my first animated short film, Everything White. The funding will provide access to key collaborators, allowing the film to be produced for the international short film circuit.”
