Alderney celebrated an outstanding evening of success at the Floral Guernsey Awards, where the island received multiple top honours for its dedication to heritage, conservation, and community pride.
Visit Alderney was awarded both the Best Project Award and the Heritage Award for the restoration of the Napoleonic Telegraph Tower, the Island’s newly restored visitor attraction that showcases Alderney’s rich history and stunning views.
In addition, Alderney secured the evening’s highest accolade, the Lady Dorey Trophy, recognising the Island’s exceptional floral displays and community-led efforts. This achievement means Alderney will represent the Bailiwick of Guernsey in the 2026 Royal Horticultural Society National ‘Britain in Bloom’ Competition, one of the UK’s most prestigious horticultural contests.
The Alderney Wildlife Trust was also recognised with the Conservation and Wildlife Award, highlighting its vital work in protecting the island’s unique habitats and species.
“These awards are a testament to the dedication, creativity, and passion of Alderney’s community,” said Caroline Gauvain, Marketing Manager at Visit Alderney.
“From restoring Telegraph Tower to nurturing our natural landscapes, these achievements reflect the pride we all take in our island’s heritage and environment. Representing the Bailiwick in the Britain in Bloom competition is an incredible honour.”
