Alderney residents have taken part in a series of events looking at the future of the island’s transport links.
1 Hop held six community events between 31 August and 4 September, including a pop-up at The Old Post Office on Victoria Street and an evening event at Georgian House.
The company said around 50 people a day visited the pop-up, while 193 surveys have been completed since 26 August, together with nine more detailed responses.
1 Hop CEO Nick Davis and Ben MacGregor met residents during the week, while members of the team also attended the Alderney Fly-In celebrations on Saturday.
Abbie Grey, spokesperson for 1 Hop, said: “The response has been phenomenal. We have had open and thoughtful conversations with people from across the community, and it has been incredibly valuable to hear first-hand what connectivity means to people living in Alderney.
“It is not simply about getting from A to B. Reliable connectivity can affect wellbeing, business, family and social life, education and so much more. Being able to leave the island and have confidence that you can get home again matters.
“We have also heard how important the smaller details are. Our dog-friendly stance, allowing dogs to travel without cages or muzzles provided they are on a lead and comfortable flying, has received particularly positive feedback.”
