Primary school children across Jersey have taken part in a competition to reimagine what electric vehicle chargers of the future might look like.
Organised by Jersey Electricity, the contest invited pupils in Years 1–3 to submit their own designs, encouraging them to think creatively about sustainability and low-carbon transport. The entries ranged from colourful sketches to imaginative concepts that turned everyday charging points into fun and eye-catching features.
The competition forms part of Jersey Electricity’s Evolve programme, which is working to expand the island’s electric vehicle (EV) charging network for public, home, and business use. By involving young people, the company hopes to spark early conversations about the role of energy, technology, and design in shaping a more sustainable future.
As part of the project, Jersey Electricity has produced a short video, ‘Unveiling EV Chargers – Through the Eyes of Jersey’s Young Creatives,’ which showcases a selection of the children’s designs and their ideas.
