Chateau des Teilles is a Guernsey care business that is registered for up to 26 service users. It occupies a two-storey detached property with 16 single and five twin bedrooms, all of which benefit from ensuite facilities.
Following a sales process with Charles Phillips at Christie & Co, which attracted interest from both Guernsey residents and applicants from the UK, a sale has been completed to Patience Healthcare (Guernsey) Ltd, a UK-based domiciliary care company. This is the group’s first care home in the Channel Islands.
The home sits on a 1.24-acre plot with a large lawned area with vegetable and sensory gardens. From certain areas of the garden, the sea can be seen over lovely countryside. It is located in the semi-rural parish of Torteval, about 10 kilometres from St Peter Port in Guernsey.
Having previously been used as a farmhouse, hotel and residential dwelling, the property was acquired by the Directors of Chateau des Tielles Ltd 25 years ago and converted to the provision of nursing care in 2004. The Directors decided to sell to retire from the care sector.
Peter Adam, Director at Chateau des Tielles Ltd, said, “We are delighted to have achieved a sale of the business and hope that the new buyers will enjoy the business as much as we have. My fellow Directors and I have worked hard to create and maintain a well-run care home and provide high-quality care for our residents. We hope that the home will continue to be run with the same ethos as we had, and we wish them all the best.”
Jack Baker, Director at Patience Healthcare (Guernsey) Ltd, said: “Chateau des Tielles is a lovely property and business, and we are greatly looking forward to working with the staff, residents and their families and getting to know them. This is a very exciting opportunity for us, and we thank the sellers for entrusting their business with us.”
Charles Phillips, Director – Care at Christie & Co, said, “It has been a great pleasure working with Peter and his colleagues during the marketing of this care home, and we are very pleased to have achieved a sale for them. Having had the pleasure of visiting the property, I was immediately impressed with the lovely setting and sea views that the care home has, as well as the accommodation and level of care provided. We were pleased with the level of interest expressed in this business, and hope the new buyers will be very successful with their new venture.”
