UBS Global Wealth Management has announced that Tobias Wehrli has been promoted to Country Head, Jersey.
Tobias (pictured) has relocated to Jersey from Zurich, Switzerland for the role. Tom Hill, who has held the role for the past 13 years, has relocated back to the UK from Jersey, taking on a new role at UBS in the Integration Office as part of the ongoing integration effort post the firm’s finalized acquisition of Credit Suisse in June 2023.
Across his 25-year career at UBS, Tobias has held a variety of roles across Europe. He joined the firm in 1998 as a graduate in Zurich within the Wealth Planning team, where he advised clients on relocation, financial and estate planning. Alongside this role, Tobias completed an Executive Master of Finance degree with the University of Zurich, as well as a Master of Law degree in International Tax with Vienna University of Economics & Business Administration, before moving into managerial roles within the Wealth Planning team covering large teams across Europe and the emerging markets.
From 2014-2016, in addition to his long list of educational qualifications, Tobias completed a Master in Science: Finance degree with the University of Rochester, USA.
Tobias headed the Wealth Planning team until 2017, before taking on the role of Head of Ultra-High Net Worth and Global Family Office across Greece and Cyprus. In this role, he led a dedicated team of specialists who advise ultra-high net worth individuals and families with institutional needs, on all aspects of their wealth. In 2020, Tobias took the overall lead across all client segments for Greece & Cyprus as Market Head Wealth Management and Head Global Family and Institutional Wealth, where he re-established growth in the market through comprehensive restructuring, de-risking and hiring new talent.
