Staff at The International Stock Exchange have raised £10,630 in support of Guernsey charity Safer.
The organisation, which supports and empowers those experiencing domestic abuse, was chosen by The International Stock Exchange (TISE) employees as their ‘charity of choice’ for 2024.
Laura Cornelius, Head of HR at TISE, said: “We are so pleased to be able to help Safer by raising this significant sum for the charity. It is great to see our team come together through various activities and have such a fun time while also raising funds for such a worthy cause. I hope that the money raised will be of real benefit to the charity in its work to assist those experiencing domestic abuse.”
The team at TISE organised a series of activities during the year to raise funds for Safer, including raffles, sweepstakes, bake sales, as well as hosting a quiz night and an afternoon tea for nearly 100 guests. The funds raised were then matched by TISE.
Safer have announced that the funds will be allocated to its Children and Young Person’s Violence Advisor (CYPVA) Service.
Louise Johnson, Business Support and Development Manager at Safer, said: “We are very grateful for this support from TISE. Our CYPVAs work with children and young people ages 4 to 21 who have either experienced domestic abuse in their families or in their own intimate relationships.
“This service has grown so much since it started in 2014, and has become an essential part of our crisis, support, and intervention services. Our CYPVAs help young people to process their experiences, build safety plans and support and advocate for them in a multi-agency framework. These funds from TISE will help to keep this vital service running.”
