Local fertility charity Tiny Seeds is showing how a small idea can make a big difference.
Since launching the Tiny Seeds Trade-Up Challenge in August, the charity has been swapping and trading its way up from a packet of ‘tiny seeds’ with items of increasing value each time – all to raise vital funds and awareness for those experiencing fertility struggles.
The latest trade marks the biggest milestone yet. UK artist Tony Parsons, who regularly enjoys spending time painting and exhibiting his work in Jersey, has exchanged a £550 Savoy Hotel voucher for a commissioned artwork valued at £2,500. The next trader will receive the opportunity to have Tony create a bespoke, one-of-a-kind oil painting of their chosen island scene for them.
The value of this trade alone would cover six of Tiny Seeds’ IVF Travel Grants, which help islanders who have to self-fund their own off-island fertility treatment. So far this year, Tiny Seeds has already provided almost 40 of these grants, highlighting just one of the reasons why fundraising is so important in allowing the charity to continue its vital support.
“This trade really reflects what the challenge is about,” said Chloé Fosse, Founder of Tiny Seeds. “It’s not only about increasing value – it’s about community, kindness, and creating opportunities to make a real difference for those who need our support.”
