Guernsey’s Committee for Health & Social Care is looking for someone to join the Committee as a non-voting member. Committees of the States can elect non-voting members to sit alongside the States Members. They can participate fully in the work of the Committee, but do not have a vote.
Deputy Al Brouard, President of the Committee for Health & Social Care, said: “Non-voting members can add so much to a Committee. They bring fresh perspectives and experience that are invaluable to the rest of the Committee. We would want our non-voting member to be fully immersed in the work of the Committee.
“We are a small team and it will be great to find that right skill set to be able to work with us, yet provide that rigor and challenge, and be supportive and progressive as we take Health and Social Care forward. Other than a keen interest in our mandate and an abundance of passion and determination to make a difference to the community we serve, there are no specific qualifications needed for the role. As such we would encourage anyone interested, no matter your background, to get in touch”.
The Committee’s mandate includes the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases, illnesses and conditions, mental health, protection of children, health promotion and public health.
Anyone interested in a seat on the Committee for Health & Social Care as a non-voting member is in the first instance asked to contact Nikejshia Moon by phone on 725241 or email [email protected].
