This year’s Guernsey Mind Investec Fun Run raised over £7,000 for the charity.
The money raised will go towards the charities therapeutic and training services which has supported hundreds of islanders over the last 12 months.
The Fun Run, which is sponsored by Investec Bank, is one of the biggest fundraising events of the year for Guernsey Mind.
The event promotes the link between physical and mental health and raises much-needed funds for Guernsey Mind. Entrants of all abilities, aged 16-years-old and over, can take part in what is now established as one of the Island’s most inclusive running events.
Over two hundred runners took part in the event and individual sponsors contributed more than £2,000 to the final fundraising amount.
Maddy Diligent from the charity said: “We had slightly lower numbers then previous years but the fundraising and support from runners involved was brilliant. As always, we would like to thank all of the many volunteers that make the event possible, our sponsors Investec Bank (Channel Islands) and the team at the KGV.”
Top fundraiser, Katrina Rowe raised £575 and has received six months free membership donated from Anytime Fitness for her efforts. Five other competitors received spot prizes of goodie bags containing gifts from Investec, Fat Rascal and The Lavender Rooms.
Next year’s event has already been set for Sunday 10th September 2023. This will be 9th year the run has taken place and will be the fifth time Investec have sponsored the event.
