The Jersey Branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathryn Abraham as Chair, and Rajah Abusrewil as Deputy Chair of the Branch Committee.
These appointments follow the Branch’s Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday, 11th June 2025.
Kathryn Abraham (pictured), Head of Legal for HSBC’s Trust and Fiduciary Services business in the Channel Islands, brings a wealth of experience to the role and succeeds outgoing Chair Stephen Alexander, who has served the Branch for a number of years. An experienced private wealth and trusts lawyer, Kathryn has a particular interest in family governance, philanthropy, and sustainability. She joined the STEP Jersey Branch Committee in 2020 as Student Liaison Officer and has since played a key role in promoting the trust profession in Jersey. Her contributions have included the development and implementation of strategic initiatives focused on NextGen engagement, education, and networking, alongside active involvement in various industry working groups.
Rajah Abusrewil, who leads the Jersey Private Capital & Trusts group at Walkers, assumes the role of Deputy Chair. She is a recognised specialist in private wealth law and a longstanding contributor to the Branch’s initiatives in Guernsey and now in Jersey.
Commenting on her appointment, Kathryn Abraham said: “It is an honour to take up the role of Chair at such an important time for the industry and the STEP Jersey Branch. I look forward to working with Rajah and the Committee to continue supporting our members and upholding the highest standards of professional excellence across Jersey’s fiduciary community.”
