SRM Accountancy celebrates another successful year of Junior Golf Academy

Now in its third year, SRM Accountancy Limited, led by founder Shakera Rolle-Manuel, has renewed its backing of the Jersey Golf Academy.

This support continues a partnership that helps young people across the island build confidence, learn new skills and fall in love with the game under the guidance of PGA Professional Andrew Chamberlain.

This year’s programme culminated in an end-of-season event at Wheatlands Golf Course, where junior golfers showcased the progress they’ve made over 21 weeks of coaching. The schedule included a crowd-pleasing Nearest the Pin challenge, an exercise in precision, patience and focus that mirrors lessons useful far beyond sport.

After Wheatlands, players headed to the Longueville Driving Range for further skills sessions and a prize-giving ceremony recognising effort, improvement and sportsmanship throughout the season.

Shakera Rolle-Manuel, Founder, SRM Accountancy Limited commented: “Because we are on a small island, we felt it’s important to always get back to community, and I have a special heart for young kids coming up and I want to give them other options outside of the rugby, the football, because not everybody is that physically inclined, so I thought golf would be a lovely alternative.”

Andrew Chamberlain, PGA Professional said: “We set the programme up to get kids active and independent in a sport that challenges body and mind. Golf teaches perseverance. You can have a tough round and think you’re done, then the next time out it’s your best. It’s a roller coaster, and that’s exactly why it builds resilience.”

A highlight of the day was the presentation of the SRM Purple Blazer to the overall winner, Charlie Stewart, a distinctive honour that recognises dedication, improvement and a positive attitude throughout the season.
