In the same week that organisers confirm next year’s Saffery Rotary Walk will be held on Saturday 12th June 2027, Saffery Trust has pledged to continue as headline sponsor for a further three years, extending one of Guernsey’s longest-running charity partnerships through to 2029.
The announcement follows an outstanding 2026 walk on Saturday 6th June, which marked ten years of Saffery Trust as the walk’s headline sponsor, the most recent chapter in an even longer association with the event.
The new agreement takes Saffery Trust’s commitment to 13 years as headline sponsor, and its support extends well beyond funding. Its financial backing covers the cost of staging the event, so that every pound raised by walkers goes directly to the beneficiary charities.
Alongside this, Saffery Trust plays an active role in organising the walk, with colleagues giving their time as volunteers throughout, from packing night to managing the finish line on the day. It is a partnership that has helped the walk become one of the most significant dates in Guernsey’s fundraising calendar.
Lisa Vizia (pictured), director at Saffery Trust, said: “Sponsoring the Saffery Rotary Walk is one of the things we are proudest of as a business. We have been part of this event for well over a decade, and reaching ten years as its headline sponsor, working alongside the island’s two Rotary clubs, felt like exactly the right moment to commit to the next chapter. The walk brings the whole island together for a single day each June, and the difference it makes to local charities is enormous.
“We are delighted to confirm our support for a further three years. It gives the organising team the certainty they need to keep growing the event, and it means islanders can lace up their boots each year knowing that every penny they raise will reach the causes that need it.”
Simon Milsted, chairman of the organising committee, said: “Having Saffery Trust commit to another three years is wonderful news for the walk and for the charities who rely on it. Their backing has allowed us to promise that 100% of what our walkers raise goes straight to good causes, and that promise is a huge part of why so many people take part.
“On behalf of us all, I want to thank Saffery Trust for their generosity and their belief in what we do. Planning has already started for Saturday 12th June 2027, and with this support behind us we are confident our 2027 walk will be the biggest and best yet.”
