Saffery Trust has been named the winner of the ‘Trust Company of the Year (midsize)’ category at the prestigious global STEP Private Client Awards for the second consecutive year.

The back-to-back title win marks a significant accomplishment for the firm, which was also shortlisted in the ‘Employer of the Year’ category for the second year in a row. Saffery Trust Guernsey Associate Director, Simon Ricketts, was also shortlisted in the inaugural year of the ‘Rising Star (non-legal)’ category, having demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities and a collaborative approach to delivering complex client solutions.

The STEP Private Client Awards are widely recognised as the hallmark of quality within the private client industry, celebrating excellence among private client lawyers, accountants, bankers, trustees, and other specialists across the globe.

As part of its submission, Saffery Trust was required to demonstrate outstanding achievements in trust services, strong growth and effective management, and the highest levels of commitment to ethical standards and client trust over the prior 12 months.

Entries are then rigorously judged by an independent panel of industry experts, comprising leading practitioners from across the private client sector, who assess each firm’s performance, innovation, client service and contribution to the wider profession.

Saffery Trust was able to demonstrate exceptional outcomes in the administration of complex and high-profile trust structures, including contentious matters, large-scale multi-entity onboarding, and pioneering solutions for digital assets and crypto clients.

The firm showcased strong organisational growth, supported by expansion into new markets, significant digital transformation projects, and a focus on innovation to enhance client service and operational efficiency.

It also highlighted its investment in people, with industry-leading professional development opportunities, career progression pathways, and a supportive workplace culture that has earned recognition as a ‘Great Place to Work’ in Switzerland and a STEP Platinum Employer for the 10th consecutive year.

Saffery Trust Guernsey and Cayman Director, Lisa Vizia, said: “We are incredibly proud to have been recognised once again as Trust Company of the Year (midsize) by STEP. Winning this award two years in a row is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the dedication, expertise and collaborative spirit of our teams across all jurisdictions.

“Our commitment to delivering client service excellence underpins all we do, and we look forward to continuing to build on this success, growing our capabilities, and further strengthening our position as a trusted partner to individuals, families and their advisors around the world.”
