RBC Race for the Kids Jersey Raises £56,000 for Jersey Child Care Trust

An incredible £56,000 was raised for the Jersey Child Care Trust as islanders turned out in force for RBC Race for the Kids Jersey, part of the Supertri League Jersey weekend on Sunday 21 September.

Despite torrential rain, the event was a huge success – showcasing community spirit, determination, and the lasting legacy Supertri is building on the island.

More than 800 participants, the second largest to date, braved the weather to walk, jog, wheel, or scoot their way around the Waterfront course, helping to raise funds in support of Jersey Child Care Trust’s (JCCT) vision for all children to have their best start in life and to create a transformational Early Years Centre of Excellence for children and families across Jersey.

The energy across the weekend was electric, with islanders of all ages getting involved in the family-friendly 2.5k, 5k, and 10k races – turning the Waterfront into a vibrant celebration of sport, resilience, and community.

The competition among schools was as spirited as ever, with Victoria College Preparatory School winning the coveted Supertri-signed tri-suit, awarded to the school with the most registered participants.

David Bailey, Chief Operating Officer at RBC Wealth Management, said: “RBC Race for the Kids is all about community, charity and getting active, and we had all of that in abundance at this year’s event, not even the rain could dampen people’s community spirit. The energy and determination from families, schools, and local businesses was inspiring.

“Raising over £56,000 for the work of our charity partner, Jersey Child Care Trust, was amazing and we commend the many runners, joggers and walkers who braved the weather to make a difference.”

Michael D’hulst, CEO of Supertri, added: “Supertri is about building a lasting legacy and creating communities through sport, and Jersey is our spiritual home. The whole weekend was incredible –  from world-class racing to community activations, and the RBC Race for the Kids Jersey, which truly inspired the competitor in everyone. It was fantastic to see the island so engaged, and the incredible £56,000 raised for JCCT is proof of the power of bringing people together for a greater purpose”.

Fiona Vacher, Executive Director of Jersey Child Care Trust, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to RBC Wealth Management and the 800+ participants who joined us for RBC Race for the Kids Jersey. Raising £56,000 is an incredible achievement and it wouldn’t have been possible without RBC Wealth Management’s amazing team. Their energy, enthusiasm and tireless volunteering made the event run so smoothly; we can’t thank them enough for their support and commitment.”
