Guernsey Housing Association has received planning permission for its proposed development of 69 new homes on the former CI Tyres site on La Charotterie.
This milestone follows the submission of a planning application in May, with the design maximising the density of homes on the site while also ensuring strong levels of sustainability and environmental standards.
Lisa de Kooker, Chief Operating Officer of Guernsey Housing Association, said: “At GHA, we remain committed to progressing developments that provide high-quality, affordable homes for islanders and this scheme does just that. The granting of planning permission on the former CI Tyres site is a very positive step forward for all involved.
“We’re grateful for the quick turnaround, which was possible due the submission of a very detailed planning application and also helped by the site’s prior planning approval following an Open Planning Meeting, which set some key principles for us to follow from the outset.
“The next stage will be to review the planning conditions carefully and progress the construction tender. This will support us in preparing the final development proposal for consideration by GHA’s Board, and then the States of Guernsey. Once we have this approval, construction can commence.”
