A personal assistant at Medical Specialist Group has marked 30 years with the organisation.
Micky Le Flock joined MSG in 1996, initially working two afternoons a week as a typist before moving into a full-time role.
Over the past three decades, she has supported clinical teams and patients and has become a familiar point of contact for many people using the service.
Reflecting on her time at MSG, Micky said: “I started at MSG in 1996 for just two afternoons a week before I became full-time. I always had an interest in orthopaedics, so when I was asked to become a relief personal assistant for that department, I jumped at the chance. I’ve been extremely lucky to work with Mr Joslin for the majority of my MSG working life. Working for someone you admire and respect is a big factor in making the job enjoyable.
“I never imagined this would become a 30-year career. It’s a demanding role, but incredibly rewarding, especially when patients say it’s reassuring to speak to a familiar voice.”
Mr Chris Joslin, Directorate Chair of the Orthopaedic Department, said: “The old metaphor of a swan looking serene on the surface but paddling like mad beneath applies perfectly to Micky. She’s paddling hard and keeping everything running smoothly through hard work and dedication. Her experience, compassion and efficiency are invaluable, not just to me but to the entire team. Patients regularly tell me how exceptional she is.
“Her commitment over the past 30 years has helped shape the standard of care we strive to provide at MSG, and we’re incredibly fortunate to have her.”
