Chloe Gill and Tobi Oluborode are the latest graduates to complete Ogier’s England and Wales Solicitor Training Programme.
Chloe (pictured) joins Guernsey’s Dispute Resolution team as an associate, and Tobi joins as an associate in the Guernsey Corporate team.
The two newly-qualified solicitors successfully completed Ogier’s two-year training scheme, which is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and sees trainees take on up to four seats, including time in litigation, as well as the Professional Skills Course and an experiential litigation course that includes a mock trial.
“Ogier is one of only a small number of Channel Island firms to have invested in a training scheme regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the stream of high-quality associates we are able to welcome into our teams is a real testament to the scheme’s success. Huge congratulations to Chloe and Tobi” said Training Principal, partner Richard Daggett, a former graduate of the scheme.
Chloe originally joined Ogier as a bursary student in 2018, working in both the corporate and property teams, before beginning the trainee solicitor programme in 2020.
Her previous supervisor, senior associate Diana Collas, from the Guernsey Corporate team, said: “We are delighted that Chloe has qualified with Ogier. Chloe has demonstrated that she has the key skills and qualities to have a long successful career in law and she will no doubt be an asset to the firm and in particular the Guernsey Dispute Resolution team which she joins as an associate.”
Tobi joined Ogier in 2019 as a paralegal in the Corporate team before starting the training programme in 2020. His previous supervisor, managing associate Chris Hards, from the Guernsey Private Wealth team, said: “It was a pleasure to have Tobi in the Private Wealth team for the last few months of his training contract, where he continued to demonstrate his exceptional talent for the law.
“Apart from his academic credentials, Tobi is also a hugely positive and enthusiastic person to have around. I am delighted that he will be staying with Ogier and I look forward to working with him as he continues his career in our Corporate team.”
