Legal 500 ‘Rising Star’ Marie-Claire Fudge has been promoted to partner in Ogier’s BVI in Europe team.
Marie-Claire (pictured), a funds and regulatory specialist, has more than 15 years of experience practising BVI law, with time spent in the BVI and, since 2017, advising clients from Jersey.
Partner Simon Schilder, Head of BVI in Europe at Ogier, said: “Marie-Claire is a talented lawyer who has brought an enormous amount of expertise and technical skill to Ogier’s BVI in Europe team, since joining it in 2017. Her attention to client service and hard work have played a significant part in the growth of the team.
“Her promotion is well deserved and further strengthens our ability to provide clients with seamless BVI advice from the UK time zone.”
Marie Claire, who progressed through Ogier’s partner development programme, frequently advises investment managers, trust companies and financial services providers on BVI legal and regulatory matters. In particular, she advises on regulatory applications to the BVI Financial Services Commission arising out of financial services M&A and matters relating to developments in the BVI’s regulatory regime.
Marie-Claire also advises on BVI fund formation and ongoing legal and regulatory compliance for BVI funds, as well as specialising in BVI corporate transactions. Her practice has a particular focus on corporate advisory, cross border mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring, having advised on many complex, high profile transactions since first joining Ogier in 2008.
Ogier’s BVI in Europe team offers BVI law advice from Jersey, Guernsey and London and, working closely with teams in the Caribbean and Asia time-zones, provides a 24-hour service to clients around the world.
