Queens Road Medical Practice has launched a new private ADHD assessment service for children and young people under the age of 18, offering families a full ADHD assessment and on-going care in primary care by our in-house Consultant Paediatrician.
In the UK, a research survey of 10,438 children between the ages of 5 and 15 years found that 3.62% of boys and 0.85% of girls had ADHD[1]. It is a neurodevelopmental condition that can impact attention, impulse control, and activity levels, often affecting learning, behaviour, and day-to-day functioning both at home and in school. Symptoms can vary and persist into adolescence and adulthood. An appropriate assessment helps to seek optimal support and treatment if required.
The assessment pathway includes an initial screening consultation, evaluation of pre-assessment information, followed by a QB check assessment and review, a comprehensive two-hour clinical evaluation and a personalised treatment planning.
Led by Consultant Paediatrician, Dr Neele Hamilton (pictured), the service ensures that patients benefit from experienced, specialist-led care.
Dr Neele said: “Within the weeks of working at QRMP, I was overwhelmed with the need for ADHD assessment and continuity of care for children with suspected and confirmed ADHD. After seeing the difficulty patients and families go through, I am very keen to help and not only provide a thorough evidence-based assessment but also to provide ongoing support face-to-face in many happy and challenging years to come.”
