This Sunday, 9th May, on the 76th anniversary of Liberation, the Channel Islands get a brand new radio station.

Liberation Radio will give the freedom to choose from two music services…

  • Liberation Radio Classics will play hits from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s
  • Liberation Radio Hits will play hits of the 00’s and now

The radio stations promise a music intensive format, with presenters who are known locally and will be available online via apps, smart speakers and the stations website.

To listen to the stations on Alexa or Google Speakers listeners just need to ask it to “play Liberation Radio hits” or “play Liberation Radio classics”.  It will not be available on FM frequencies.

Liberation radio can be heard already, but will launch officially on Sunday May 9th at midday, with a voice well known to listeners across the Channel Islands and more music per hour than anybody else.

A Liberation radio spokesperson added the station would be announcing additions to the team in the coming weeks. ‘We’re talking to known broadcasters in both Islands, all of whom are excited at the prospect of building something fun and exciting’.
