At midday yesterday, on Liberation Day the Channel Islands’ new radio station launched – Liberation Radio.
The new station kept their presenter line up secret until the launch, choosing that moment to reveal their breakfast host. Murray Norton, who can be heard every weekday morning between 6 and 9am.
Murray Norton is one of the most recognised radio presenters in the Channel Islands, having broadcast on BBC Local Radio and local commercial radio for almost 30 years. Alongside the hundreds of local events he’s hosted, further afield he presented online TV in London and Spain, Sweden, Germany and the USA.
Murray commented “The way people listen to radio is changing rapidly, particularly since Covid forced all of us to work and socialise online. Liberation Radio is available to everyone, via smartphones, smart speakers or their computer. I’ll be there every weekday morning, playing more music than any other radio station – waking up listeners across the islands.”
