The Guernsey Sailing Trust (GST) has appointed a new management team with chief instructor Clare Chapple promoted to Principal and Sarah Creasey, formerly the Trust’s office manager, promoted to general manager.
Chairman of the GST Ross Coppolo said: “We’re very excited about these appointments and the future of the Trust. We’re immensely grateful to Richard Klein, our departing Principal, for his role in the development of the Trust and the significant growth we have seen in recent years. Clare and Sarah have been central to this development and it is great to see them stepping up to ensure it continues.
“Clare is a sailing coach with international experience and will combine her role as Principal with that of the Island’s sailing development officer. This means we can offer a pathway for islanders from learning the ropes to enjoying recreational sailing and even competing in local and national competition.
“Sarah has experience of working with charity and volunteer organisations and will continue to manage the good running of the Trust, an essential part of any well-managed charity. She will also be responsible for developing the Trust’s role as a champion of the marine environment and promoting the health and mental health benefits of sailing.”
The Trust has also appointed Hayley Bradshaw, an experienced human resources professional, to sit on the board of directors. Mrs Bradshaw is HR manager at financial services firm Carey and also serves as their CSR committee chair. She is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and has a Masters in Human Resource Management.
“Hayley’s appointment to the board is a significant one for the Trust,” said Mr Coppolo. “As a charity with employees, part-time employees, volunteers and significant safeguarding responsibilities, having a qualified HR professional as a director means we have access to the expertise we need to manage these complex requirements.”
