LibertyBus, has announced a strategic partnership with Urban Things to unveil a brand new mobile app that is set to transform bus travel across the island.
The new LibertyBus app is now available for free download on both the App Store and Google Play, providing customers with access to a wide range of features that will enhance their journey experience.
Designed to make journey planning and navigation as easy as possible, the app boasts a range of features that will revolutionise the way people travel on buses in Jersey. Customers can track live bus positions, access up-to-date bus stop information, view bus loading information, and save their preferred bus stops for easy reference. Additionally, the app provides school bus route and bus information, as well as links to diversion information.
The beta version of the LibertyBus app was soft launched in April, alongside the new bus timetable. Following the successful trial, the app is now available for all to download, completely free of charge.
Kevin Hart, Director of LibertyBus, expressed his enthusiasm for the new LibertyBus app and its helpful features. He said: “We are thrilled to be introducing these new features to our customers. It’s great to see that the buses on the live map now also show their direction of travel. This will make it even easier for passengers to navigate their way around Jersey’s bus routes.
“Additionally, the ability to simply position your current location will be a bonus for visitors to the island or those exploring new areas of Jersey”.
Mr. Hart also highlighted the benefits of the app’s school bus route and bus information: “The inclusion of school bus routes in the app is a great addition. We know that the behaviour of catching a regular bus when young often continues into adult life. Not only are there live times for the school buses, but the full route can be seen on the map or as detailed bus stops. This improves the offering from LibertyBus to those planning journeys to and from school”.
The LibertyBus app is set to transform the way people travel on buses in Jersey, providing easy-to-use features that will make journey planning and navigation more accessible and convenient than ever before.
Managing Director for Tower Transit UK Samuel Ribeiro said: “We began working on the LibertyBus app last year. We believed Jersey customers deserved a dedicated bus travel app, one with the same features and functionality used in larger regions and cities.”
