Carey Olsen continues its success after gaining 18 top-tier rankings in the latest edition of Legal 500 UK – six more than its nearest competitor.
A leading industry guide, Legal 500 ranks law firms following a thorough and independent research process, which includes interviews with clients and peers as well as information provided by the firms themselves.
The 2021 edition sees the firm ranked in Tier One for nine practice areas in both Guernsey and Jersey.
12 of the firm’s lawyers feature in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame, which is reserved for law firm partners who are at the pinnacle of the profession and have received constant praise by their clients for continued excellence. In addition, 26 of the firm’s lawyers are recognised as ‘leading individuals’, while five are regarded as ‘next generation partners’ and a further 19 as ‘rising stars’.
Feedback from industry peers and clients in this year’s guide saw Carey Olsen’s Guernsey office hailed as ‘the market leader, with a depth of quality and resources unmatched in the jurisdiction’, and the Jersey office described as the ‘go-to firm on the island’ with a ‘quality, consistency and commerciality of service that is head and shoulders above its competitors’. The London office is considered ‘strong in several practice areas and offshore jurisdictions’ while a ‘particular advantage is having experienced offshore advice available in a London time zone’.
