This is a final call for Skipton Swimarathon entries.
With just one week to go, a few lanes are still available for the event, taking place from Wednesday 8 to Sunday 12 October at Beau Sejour. Most availability is on Saturday and Sunday.
This year’s main beneficiary is St John Guernsey LBG, with additional funds supporting other local charities. Last year, the event raised over £65,000, and
organisers hope to surpass that total.
More than 30 team and industry-sector trophies are up for grabs, along with the coveted Super Supporter Awards for organisations that excel in fundraising.
John Stuart, Chair of the Skipton Swimarathon Committee, said: “Entries are going well but we need a final push from the Guernsey public to try and fill the full quota on the weekend. If you’ve been meaning to enter, now’s your last chance to sign up. Form a team, pick a time, and come be part of one of Guernsey’s most enjoyable fundraisers.”
Charlotte Dunsterville, Chief Commercial Officer at Skipton International, said: “The Swimarathon brings out the best of Guernsey: community spirit, friendly rivalry and real impact. We’re proud to support it once again and to see the island get behind St John as this year’s main beneficiary.”
Heather Langlois, CEO of St John Guernsey, added: “Thank you to everyone entering a team and raising funds this year. Support from the Skipton Swimarathon helps us deliver vital first aid education, event cover, and essential community services across the island. Ultimately, our mission is to teach people how to save lives and the money raised will make a real difference for both us and the wider community.”
