Jersey Electricity has been awarded Silver accreditation under the Inclusive Employers Standard, an evidence-based inclusion framework run by Inclusive Employers.

To achieve this accreditation, JE submitted a detailed review of its equity, diversity and inclusion activity aligned to the framework’s six pillars. The submission was rigorously assessed against evidence-based criteria.

Jersey Electricity (JE) focused on three key areas to strengthen its inclusion approach. Firstly, it reviewed its policies to ensure they are accessible, easy to understand, and reflective of what matters most to colleagues. Secondly, it invested in leadership development to equip leaders across the organisation to better support their teams. Thirdly, JE examined its products and services to ensure they meet the needs of its customers and the wider community.

Andrew Welsby (pictured), Director of People & Culture at Jersey Electricity, said: “Achieving Silver accreditation from Inclusive Employers is a significant milestone for JE and one we have been working towards for some time. Supportive and inclusive policies are the foundation of our organisation, and we have evolved our approach to ensure we provide the right support, in the right way, for our colleagues.

“As both an employer and energy provider, it’s important that we represent the communities we serve. We have reviewed how customers interact with us, as well as the products we offer, to ensure we create a positive and inclusive experience.

“Jersey is becoming increasingly diverse, as is our workforce, and we will continue to build an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone’s benefit.”

Emily Pattinson, Senior Inclusive Employers Standard Programme Lead at Inclusive Employers, added: “We’re incredibly proud that Jersey Electricity has demonstrated a strong commitment to building an inclusive culture and has achieved Silver accreditation. At a time when inclusion and diversity work can feel challenging, organisations like Jersey Electricity are helping to drive meaningful change. By actively developing their approach to inclusion, they are showing a clear commitment to their people and to creating a culture of impactful inclusion.”
