Christina Liciaga, HSBC’s Head of Customer and Products, Europe, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, has once again been named on INvolve’s Empower 100 Executives Role Model List.
The List, which was recently released and is supported by YouTube, showcases leaders around the world who are paving the way when it comes to increasing representation and driving inclusion for others within the workplace.
It is the fifth year Christina (pictured) has been recognised in the list for her work to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition to recognition in the Empower Ethnic Minority Role Model List, Christina has also been recognised on the HERoes Ethnically Diverse Women Role Models List and the EMpower Top 10 UK Black Role Models List, all of which highlight outstanding leaders breaking down barriers in the workplace.
Her inclusion reflects the considerable work Christina continues to do both inside and outside of HSBC. Within the Bank, she is Co-Founder of HSBC’s Global Black Action & Advisory Council (BLAAC), Co-Chair of EMBRACE in Channel Island and Isle of Man (HSBC’s employee network focusing on ethnicity and race), and the sponsor for STRETCH45, an internal venture to cultivate ethnic minority talent.
Outside of HSBC, she has been an Executive Trustee for JUSTICE, an all-party law reform and human rights organisation which challenged Racial Disparities of Children in the Youth Justice System and championed Increasing Judicial Diversity in the UK, and is the Trustee Chair of the Strategy and Finance Committee for Brixton House, a combined social venture, cultural hub and theatre, to make the arts more inclusive and representative in London.
Elvina Aghajanyan, Head of Human Resources at HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said: “Christina continues to be a real champion for diversity and inclusion in the workplace – and her regular recognition in initiatives like this highlights her commitment to empowering those around her, driving positive change and ensuring that, as an employer, we are creating a welcoming and safe environment where all of our people can thrive.”
Christina added: “I’m delighted to have been named on this List once again. Making sure that there is diverse representation at all levels of the industry and the workplace is something I believe in passionately and I’m fortunate that I am in a position to be able to contribute to and progress such an important area.”
Founder & CEO of INvolve, Suki Sandhu OBE, commented: “I’m so thrilled to be celebrating this global group of trailblazing Executives, Future Leaders and Advocates for people of colour in business. All the individuals within these lists are championing inclusion and leveraging their expertise and knowledge to drive impactful initiatives and strategic change within their organizations. It’s vital that people of colour across global organisations can succeed and achieve career success, and these Role Models are essential drivers of change who are smashing barriers to progress. We could not effect change without them leading the way.”
