House of Champions has opened its doors for a preview event attended by more than 50 professionals, creatives and influencers, ahead of the launch of a new collaborative workspace in Jersey.
Located in a courtyard in Charing Cross, the three storey space combines traditional architecture with a modern interior. Floor to ceiling windows, exposed wooden beams and curated artwork form part of the design. Once fully operational, it will have capacity for up to 40 members and will offer hot desks, permanent desks, bookable meeting rooms and a podcast studio, alongside a range of membership options.
The space is due to open formally this spring, with a programme of member events planned. It has been developed as a flexible working environment aimed at founders, professionals and creatives seeking shared workspace and community.
The initiative has been led by Fiona Wylie, Chief Executive Officer of Brand Champions, a Jersey based marketing agency. The project represents a physical expansion of her work within the island’s business community.
Speaking at the launch, Fiona Wylie said: “Too often we ask people, particularly women, to adapt to systems that were never designed for them. This space is about flipping that narrative.
“According to IPSE, the Self-Employed Association UK, there has been a remarkable 69% rise in the number of highly skilled female freelancers since 2008, most seeking greater flexibility and work-life balance. House of Champions has been created to support this expanding and ambitious network of people who are building careers on their own terms.
“We are investing in people first and providing an environment where ideas can grow, teams can form, connections can turn into collaborations and co-workers can become friends. House of Champions is community-driven and flexible by design, because real ambition doesn’t thrive in isolation. It thrives when people feel supported, inspired and genuinely connected.
“This is a place to build businesses, yes but also confidence, momentum and possibility. To grow ideas, champion each other and create something bigger than any one of us could alone.”
