Skipton International, the Guernsey-licensed bank, has congratulated the Guernsey Housing Association (GHA) on its 1,000th property.
The property will be opened today, Monday 18th January, by Chris Hill, Chairman of GHA, and Deputy Peter Roffey, President of the Committee for Employment and Social Security, with a presentation to a new resident, and a viewing of some properties.
There are 17 two and three-bed houses and bungalows, offering ten for rent and seven for partial ownership to first time buyers, who otherwise would be unable to buy in the private sector.
Skipton International has been a long-time partner with the Guernsey Housing Association, and has, to date, invested £14.3m into affordable housing via the GHA’s partial ownership scheme. The bank has provided 84 mortgages to assist local people and families get their foot on the Guernsey housing ladder. The bank offers a specialist package to assist purchasers obtain between 40% and 80% ownership of their property, with the option to increase their ownership share in incremental stages throughout the mortgage term.
