Young professionals with ties to Jersey are being encouraged to apply for the Franco-British Council’s 2026 Young Leaders Programme.
The Young Leaders Programme brings together talented individuals under the age of 40 from diverse sectors across France and the UK. Through numerous engagements in both nations throughout the year – including a conference in Paris – the scheme fosters dialogue, collaboration, and leadership on key issues shaping our societies.
As part of a five-year partnership between the Government of Jersey and the Franco-British Council, two places have been allocated to Jersey candidates for this prestigious initiative.
This is a unique chance for Jersey’s future leaders to help shape the dialogue between France and the UK. Participants will join a dynamic network of influential peers, engage in high-level discussions, and contribute to strengthening Franco-British relations.
James Linder, one of two Islanders selected for the 2025 Programme, said: “It was a privilege to represent Jersey in the Young Leaders Programme.
“Meeting leaders from politics and industry, including President Emmanuel Macron and [AI expert] Sir Demis Hassabis, was insightful, and the discussions on Europe’s major challenges offered useful perspective.
“The Programme offers Islanders a valuable opportunity to build connections and make a constructive contribution.”
Kate Nutt, Chief Officer of Jersey’s Ministry for External Relations, said: “This programme offers Jersey’s future leaders a platform to influence Franco-British dialogue, and I encourage all Islanders with an interest in this area to consider applying.
“Our partnership with the Franco-British Council reflects a commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening international partnerships. The Young Leaders scheme presents an invaluable opportunity to tackle shared challenges and shape the conversations that matter most.”
