EY has appointed a new Partner to its Channel Islands business.

Nick Dawes (pictured) will take up the role on 1 October 2026, bringing 30 years of experience advising and auditing banking and capital markets clients in the UK and internationally.

Based in the Channel Islands, he will work across EY’s Jersey and Guernsey offices and maintain links with the firm’s wider UK and international network.

Mr Dawes began his career with EY in London, working on major banking audits before taking on international assignments and advisory projects.

In 2009, he relocated to Tokyo, where he spent four years working with Japanese financial institutions and the Japanese operations of global financial services businesses. He became a Partner during his time in Japan.

After returning to the UK, he led audit relationships for several global banking institutions and held leadership roles within EY’s UK Financial Services Assurance practice.

Most recently, he has led teams working with banking and capital markets clients and has also been involved in developing staff within EY’s banking practice.

Commenting on his appointment, Nick Dawes said: “I am delighted to be joining EY Channel Islands at such an exciting point in its development. Having spent my career working with financial services organisations across the UK and internationally, I have been incredibly impressed by the ambition, momentum and quality of the Channel Islands business.

“The growth achieved in recent years is a reflection of the outstanding people and strong client relationships that have been built locally. I am looking forward to working with colleagues across Jersey and Guernsey, strengthening connections with the wider EY network and helping to create new opportunities for our clients and our people.”

Dan Saunders, Channel Islands Managing Partner at EY, said: “Nick’s appointment represents another important milestone in our growth journey. He brings extensive financial services experience, deep technical expertise and a proven track record of building strong client relationships and developing high-performing teams.

“As we continue to grow and broaden our offering across the Channel Islands, it is essential that we invest in leadership capable of supporting our long-term ambitions. Nick’s experience across banking, capital markets and international financial services will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our people.

“We are delighted to welcome him to the Channel Islands and look forward to the contribution he will make as we enter our next phase of growth.”
