Watch: Electric car means children can drive themselves to theatre

The journey from Guernsey Hospital’s Frossard Ward to Theatres is now much more fun for children thanks to a very generous donation from Stan Brouard.

A children’s electric Porsche means that children, who are well enough to, may drive themselves through the corridor of the PEH to the operating theatres.

Hannah Clark, Deputy Theatre Manager said: “Any operation carried out in theatre can be daunting, especially for children. The car arrived last week, and Theatre and Frossard Ward staff have really enjoyed seeing the children arrive with a big smile on their face having driven here.

“We can’t thank Stan Brouard enough for their generous donation’.

The first child to use the car to drive to theatre was Briony-Rae Domaille. Her mum, Lucy Prevel said: “The smile on Briony-Rae’s face when she drove herself to her operation was great to see. We were all a bit nervous and this calmed us all down before her procedure.”
