2021 was an extremely busy and successful year for Guernsey’s Digital Greenhouse.
During the year they have welcomed over 10,000 people to the hub, seen over 2,000 people at events, worked with around 300 entrepreneurs and enabled over 300 people to gain new digital qualifications.
They have launched their 2021 celebration report, which provides a snapshot of the activities undertaken during the year. Working with over 100 established organisations, alongside individuals and assisting in the launch of numerous new ventures, activity continues to grow and benefit the Island.
Established in 2016, the Digital Greenhouse brings together individuals, community and industry to deliver an innovation and entrepreneurial hub, focusing on the digital and creative sectors, whilst also providing support for new business of any kind.
Five full years in, it has grown into a hive of activity, with strong industry collaboration and delivers over 18 discrete initiatives per year, focused on new and existing business development and inspiring people to innovate and upskill.
The range of programmes are diverse and available fully funded to support individuals in Guernsey who are looking to start their own business, scale an existing business through access to experts or learn from industry leaders about new innovation in markets. With the growing recognition for the need to upskill in digital, many courses and programmes have been at capacity for the year.
Lucy Kirby (pictured), Director at the Digital Greenhouse “We are delighted to share our 2021 update, which includes inspiration from our entrepreneurs and innovators who have strived to take risks, undertake new challenges and develop themselves during the year.
“The success and impact as an innovation and entrepreneurial hub would not be possible without the continued support from the Committee for Economic Development and our key industry sponsors and partners, who enable us to deliver programmes without cost to the public, ensuring that we are a fully accessible service for the whole community.”
Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller, member of the Committee for Economic Development said, “The Committee continues to champion skills and entrepreneurship, working to further scale our efforts for the benefit of Guernsey businesses and community and I hope you can take advantage of the many initiatives and services through the Digital Greenhouse in 2022 and beyond.”
