Guernsey-based Cortex Technologies has been contracted by the States to take full management of the Simultaneous Electronic Voting system as well as provide integration with the new parliamentary website.
Cortex first built and launched the Simultaneous Electronic Voting (SEV) in September 2022, providing the means for electronic meeting by States Deputies during meetings as well as instant public access to complete voting records; collectively enabling greater transparency in parliamentary proceedings.
As part of ongoing digital improvements, the States of Deliberation commissioned a new parliamentary website, delivered by local design agency TPA. In parallel, Cortex has updated SEV to provide dynamic integration points that allow the website to provide up-to-date information on active and historic meetings, proposition history, deputies’ voting records, and debate details. This integration will enable website users to access a complete range of parliamentary information from one place.
SEV has also been upgraded to support the Greffier team in managing and publishing more detailed records, addressing requirements raised during previous terms. These upcoming enhancements aim to streamline administrative processes and improve access to legislative data for staff and the general public.
