Condor Ferries will bring Channel Islanders home from St Malo as France closes its borders.
Condor has secured agreement to operate services from St Malo to Jersey and Guernsey on Thursday 19 March and Sunday 22 March to repatriate Channel Islanders and French residents.
The company will also suspend all passenger services from 24 March to Thursday 02 April. The UK, Jersey and Guernsey governments advise against all but essential travel.
Paul Luxon, Condor’s CEO, said’, ‘We remain absolutely committed to bringing families home, so our priority is to ensure that such essential travel takes place. This is a pragmatic approach given the government advice available in what is clearly an evolving situation.’
‘We have taken the step of suspending all passenger services from 24 March to Thursday 02 April and hope to resume for the start of the Easter school holidays. These are, of course, unprecedented times for all of us so our plans could change.’
Condor’s reservations teams are notifying passengers of the changes and amending bookings as appropriate.
Freight-only services from Portsmouth to the Channel Islands and from St Malo remain unaffected by the changes.
